Tires endure all the impact that local roads inflict on a car. They’re encountering all kinds of road conditions and debris. So, it’s important to regularly monitor how they’re handling all this usage and wear and tear.

Each month, you should be checking the tire pressure and inflation, as the right inflation guarantees a better ride. Every six months, we recommend scheduling a tire rotation to ensure the tires are wearing evenly. This procedure involves switching the front tires with the rear ones.

The tire tread should also be monitored. New tires have deep treads that grip the road, regardless of the surface. After a few years of consistent usage, the treads become shallower, so you will need to replace them.

Keep in mind that due to the heavier battery pack in your electric vehicle (EV), the tires may need updating earlier than you would normally expect.

While your car will no longer need oil changes, other fluids will still be needed. These include brake fluid, power steering fluid, transmission fluid, and windshield wiper fluid. Plus, the brake calipers may need extra lubrication, as they may not see as much usage.

The cabin air filter should be changed according to what is dictated by the vehicle’s maintenance schedule. It helps to reduce the number of allergens and outside matter that may infiltrate the vehicle’s cabin.

Remember, too, that the interior and exterior lights as well as the blinkers should be checked and replaced as needed. Don’t forget the windshield wipers! They will need to be upgraded when they stop clearing the windshield effectively.
